In 1998, the President of the United States announced a series of initiatives intended to improve the quality of care in the nation’s 17,000 nursing homes. Since that time Maverick Systems has been an integral part of a team of university researchers and federal and state health care officials working on the Nursing Home Quality Initiative (NHQI). We are the sole developers of the Quality Indicators Survey (QIS) system, a new software package due for a national rollout in 2004, which provides an innovative outcomes-based approach to the challenge of improving regulation enforcement in the face of declining agency budgets.
